Since 2005 in the framework of the Alma Mater series, due to the high level and great number of the professional articles from various branches of science, thematic volumes are being published in order to produce a complete survey of a given subject matter, providing expert information on the state-of-the-art of a scientific area. In cooperation with the Subcommittee of Knowledge Management of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, we are presenting articles, reports, summaries, presented at the Annual Workshop the last three years. They are very colourful from the description of an attempt to very high level theoretical conclusions. One thing is common in them: their field of interest is knowledge management, this capital that is to be spread in the intellectual world in order to enable the society to meet the complex, constantly changing requirements of our days. The authors also cover a wide range of expertise: there are qualified researchers, teachers from different levels of the Hungarian educational system, apprentices and professors, practitioners and theoreticians.
