Terry Pratchett

Terry Pratchett 1948. április 28-án született Beaconsfieldben. 1959-ben letette az „eleven plus exam”-ot és a High Wycombe Technical High School iskolába ment. Karrierjét újságírással kezdte, így 17 évesen hagyta el az iskolát, 1965-ben, hogy a Bucks Free Pressnek dolgozhasson. 1971-ben megjelentette a könyvet, Pratchett saját illusztrációival. Kevés kritikát kapott, de azok dicsérőek voltak. Ezt a The Dark Side of the Sun (1976) és a Strata (1981) sci-fi művek követték.
