Over the last 100 years, European private law has developed from liberal to social private law. The foundations for this were laid in the Franco-German-Italian discourse of the interwar period. The genesis of today's private social law has for the first time been comprehensively analysed and discussed at trilateral conferences at Villa Vigoni. This second of three resulting volumes deals with the significance of the legal 'Berlin-Rome axis' ('Asse Roma-Berlino') for this development.
