Community nursing services are organized differently in various countries. In addition, changes in the health care system that concern community nursing in particular, as well as demographic changes are about to occur or are being considered in many countries.

This book describes the way in which community nursing services are organized, how they function and how they are financed in various countries. It also describes some recent developments in community nursing in these countries. It is the first time that community nursing in various countries is systematically described and compared.

The book provides relevant information for nursing scientists, community nurses, community nursing managers, nurse educators, and policy makers. Since the study concerns western Europe (Belgium, England, Finland, France, the former Federal Republic of Germany, The Netherlands, Norway), Canada and the US, the book may be of special interest for eastern European countries.
