HALMA - The European Network of Literary Centres / Das Europaeische Netzwerk Literarischer Zentren (angol-német)
Berlin, 2007
Összefoglaló
halma connects literary centres in Europe, brings cultures together and enables literary figures—authors, translators and go-betweens—to sample and experience the diversity of their common cultural heritage. The halma network creates flexible structures allowing various forms of dia- logue and exchange in different regions. In the framework of co-operation, events and scholarships, halma provides a multi-facetted forum for border-transcending meetings.
As in the board game ‘Halma’ (from Greek, jump) the net- work offers ideal opportunities. For travelling from one European camp to another in order to work there, engage in research, or carry out different projects, since in many places literature and culture are closely linked. Sixteen lit- erary centres in central and eastern Europe have founded the network. This catalogue introduces you to halma’s founding members and invites you to get to know the net- work. Expansion, especially throughout western Europe, has already begun and is documented on the Internet.
Halma was initiated in November 2006 by the Literary Colloquium Berlin together with the Robert Bosch Foundation and the Centre Pogranicze.
